R3 VLCD Day 4 Lunch: Leftover cabbage soup with chicken and miracle noodles

Today’s Weight: 156.4
Today’s change: -1.6
Total R3 weight lost: 4.6

Happy day my little lambs!  It’s Friday and my day will be spent on Canyon Lake, boating, jetskiing, and just generally focusing on FUN!  That’s my kind of day!  The only thing is….I *still* have not bought a new swimsuit.  The one I have is about 6 years old and is too big.  I went and looked yesterday and just was not happy with what I saw (admittedly I am extremely picky when it comes to swimsuits, and it doesn’t help that the selection is slim at this point of the summer).  Thinking about trying again today, but also thinking about just giving up on it and wearing the old one.

I haven’t talked much about my R3 “regimen”; things I’m doing outside of what is documented daily on my blog (like food intake).  At least 4 liters of water a day, which is easy for me.  I’m a water girl.  Black coffee at home in the morning, along with a cup of water with 2 tablespoons of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar *shudder*.  It tastes horrible but I just down it.  I don’t even want to fool with trying to make it taste better – it is what it is.  2 Turkey Rhubarb capsules in the morning along with 1 200 mg CoQ10 capsule.  Green tea at work (unsweetened).  Decaf tea, typically green tea in the evening sometime after dinner (sweetened with stevia).  The evening tea helps me with the tummy rumbles, it’s something a little sweet, and it also keeps me way from that glass of wine that I want!  2 Turkey Rhubarb capsules in the evening before bedtime.  I fooled with the apple cider vinegar during R2 but I never got serious with it – this time, I’m going to take it every day.  Maybe twice a day if I can stomach it.

My food:  1/2 an apple about 8:30 am.  For lunch I had some leftover cabbage soup from R3 Day 2 but I added miracle noodles and 100 grams of chicken.  1/2 an apple mid-afternoon.  For dinner I ate 100 grams of cold chicken on fresh spinach.

R3 VLCD Day 3 Lunch: Chicken and cucumbers with 1 tablespoon of Walden Farms Balsamic Vinaigrette

Today’s Weight: 158
Today’s change: -1
Total R3 weight lost: 3

I entered this round not entirely in the right frame of mind – I pretty much started it, trying to be motivated about it, but mostly wanting to get it over with.  This is not good!  Today, I’m on a better track.  I’m feeling more focused.  I can do this.  I will do this.  The honest truth is there has been much on my mind (in case you could’t tell!).  I have been worrying too much about inconsequential things.  Today, officially, intentionally, I am letting all that go, to float away from me.

I bought a few products at the grocery yesterday.  Purists say they are not allowed on P2, but I was only a complete purist on Round 1.  I’m going to play with these and will of course report back on my findings and thoughts on them.

Products I'm trying this round

I’m especially excited about the sugar-free teriyaki.  Yes it has splenda in it.   Yes it has 1 gram of carbs.  We’ll see how/if it affects my weight loss.   Only 5 calories per tablespoon.

My food:  1/2 apple mid-morning (yes, down to 1/2 apple twice a day, as of today).  Chicken and cucumbers for lunch – I put about 1 tablespoon of the Walden Farms balsamic vinaigrette on the cucumbers and it was actually quite tasty for a zero calorie product.  Woot!  I have almost completely lost my taste for evil cucumbers because I’ve eaten ALOT of them on my rounds.  The balsamic vinaigrette definitely helped.

For dinner I had luscious stir fry made with tilapia, cabbage, miracle noodles, and the sugar free teriyaki.  And it was alot of food – this is the very first food picture I’ve put on my blog where the plate is an actual dinner plate and not a small plate.  Get this – the entire dish is 158 calories.  Suuuhh-weeeeeet!  Chicken or shrimp would be better than fish…but it was still cussing good.

R3 VLCD Day3 Dinner: Stir fry with miracle noodles, tilapia, cabbage, and sugar free teriyaki. Directions: Prepare the miracle noodles by rinsing them well in a colandar; then drain. Add the noodles to a hot, dry, non stick pan (medium high heat), stirring, until they are mostly dry. Remove the noodles from the pan and set aside. Add about 1/4 cup chicken broth to the pan along with the cabbage. I threw some red pepper in too - I like it HOT! After a couple of minutes add 100 g thinly sliced tilapia. At the very end add the noodles and 1 tablespoon of the sugar-free teriyaki.

Many blessing to you and yours.

R3 VLCD Day 2 Lunch: Tomatoes and chicken

Today’s Weight: 159
Today’s change: -1.4
Total R3 weight lost: 2

Ok, it’s going to take me a few days to get used to the tummy grumbling again.  It’s not starvation tummy grumbling – otherwise I feel great, good energy, no blood sugar issues, etc.  Just tummy grumbling.  Today I was like, Oh YEAAHHHH, I remember this feeling.  Welcome back my old friend 😀

There is a supplement I’ve been taking at the recommendation of my holistic health practicioner (started on it a couple of weeks ago).  Turkey Rhubarb.  What a funky name!  It’s a colon cleansing formula, which makes me giggle just saying that.  So far I like it, it definitely works, and not in a violent or uncomfortable way if you catch my drift.  I think this should help me on P2.

How is Christy today?  Christy is still a little low in spirits but not alarmingly so.  Christy thinks things will look up soon.  Christy is also really irritated at referring to herself in a third party context.  But she is what she is.  For real.

It’s a beautiful day outside and “I” am going to take full advantage of it.

My food:  1 apple mid-morning.  Chicken and tomatoes for lunch.  1 apple mid-afternoon.  Soup with cabbage and tilapia for dinner.

Cheers peeps!

R3 VLCD Day 2 Dinner: Soup with cabbage and tilapia. Directions: 1 quart P2 friendly organic chicken broth (read the labels!). About 1/2 of a small head of cabbage. A large amount (at least a tablespoon) of organic poultry seasoning (use less if you have the ground up, powder kind). Throw this into a pot and simmer until the cabbage is tender. This is enough soup for two meals. So, for this meal: Slice the raw tilapia really thin and place into a big soup bowl. Top with 1/2 of the cooked cabbage soup and nuke for 1-2 minutes until the fish is cooked.

R3 VLCD Day 1 Lunch: Chicken and cucumbers

Today’s Weight: 160.4
Today’s change: -.6
Total R3 weight lost: .6

Day one down baby!   Despite the fact that this is the crappiest day 1 showing I’ve had; I’m glad day one is done.  I’m not going to stress over the .6 (although I would much rather see the typical 2-4 that day 1 brings).  It’ll all be ok in the end.  One factor may be the fact that I had no option but to weigh myself at 5 am – I have found in the past that the earlier I weigh, the less the loss.

I wasn’t terribly hungry (not enough to drive me crazy); just some minor rumbling in the tummy.    But I did eat dinner at 5:00!  For now I’m having whole apples for snacks, but I’ll eventually do what I did in my previous rounds and cut down to 1/2 an apple twice a day.  For now, whole apples are fine while I get back into the swing of things.  And just to note, my post-load weight was 161.

My food:  one whole apple mid-morning.  Chicken and cucumbers for lunch.  One whole apple mid-afternoon.  Scallops and asparagus for dinner.

R3 VLCD Day 1 Dinner: Asparagus and scallops

R3 P1 Load Day 2

July 18, 2010

Didn’t weigh myself this morning; I’ll just update with my post-load weight tomorrow.  I have felt this P1 like I have on every P1 – slightly ill and bloated.  I also haven’t forced myself to eat as much this P1 – just couldn’t do it.  I have, however, had plenty to eat (I think).  We’ll see how I do in the next few days when VLCD starts.

Yesterday I had:  scrambled eggs with ham and cheese for breakfast.  A piece of red velvet cake.  1/2 a sandwich for lunch.  Steak, sweet potato, asparagus, and salad for dinner.  Today I had:  Migas with refried beans and hash browns for breakfast.  Cheese and crackers and some cold steak for lunch.  Enchiladas, refried beans, guacamole, chips and homemade salsa for dinner (hot tamale was it good).  At the moment I feel like hurling, don’t you know.  Prior P1’s I ate alot more, but I did what I could this round.

So – the HUCOG I got this time is the liquid form (predissolved).  I like it!  It made mixing easier as there is one less step.  And it’s obviously effective because I just do not want to eat.  That’s a good thing!

Today I’m sending positive thoughts into the universe.  We all deserve peace and love in our lives, and that’s where my thoughts are focusing.

Hugs! xoxo

Happy Round 3 to me!  I’ve decided to go ahead and start.  Getting through the week while my oldest son is here will not be the most challenging thing I’ve done on my rounds.  If I can get through Thanksgiving (and 18 pies) – I can handle the week.  I don’t want to delay any more, I just want to get on with it.

I made my Costco trip yesterday and got organic chicken tenderloins, scallops, spinach, tomatoes, and even the dreaded cucumbers.  And apples.  So that will get me started.  This morning I’ll mix my first batch of HCG (HUCOG) and do my first injection.  For loading I’m going to focus on high fat, high protein, and for the most part I’ll stay away from sugar and carbs.  For the most part.  I did buy a red velvet cake at Costco 😉

One thing I’m going to experiment with this round is Miracle Noodles – I’ve had these before and liked them – they are practically zero calorie/zero carb noodles and they are filling.  I ordered some last night, so we’ll see how I do on them!

Date night tonight, yay!  I’m looking forward to it, to say the least.

Many blessings to you and yours on this fine Saturday! xoxo

R2 Infinite P4 Day ?

July 15, 2010

On the HCG front:  got it, double checked my supplies, I have everything I need for the first two weeks at least.  I will need to order some inconsequential supplies, but that’s fine.  I’m debating on whether to start this weekend – I really really really want to though, and the only reason I’m debating delaying by a couple of weeks is that my oldest son is coming home for a week towards the end of July!  YAAAAYYYY!!  I finally get to see him, he’s so far from home.  In years past he’s come home for the summer break but I got “The Call” this year where he told me he was staying in Nashville to work for the summer :-\  I had mixed feelings about that – I’m very proud of him, but I miss him very, very much.  I know while he’s here there will be much cooking and restaurant going.  I’ll decide in the next day whether to go ahead and start anyway or wait – but it’s likely that I will just start.  I’m ready.

On the KO front, it’s better today.  We had lunch.  He was sweet.  I didn’t bring up anything earth shattering, just tried to keep it a light, cheerful lunch, and I was glad to see him.  He asked me out for Saturday.  That was good.  I can’t say that I’m back where I was with my heart fully exposed but it’s a step in the right direction.  I may be a little wary for now, but that’s ok.  Healthy even.  I’m not entirely happy with the way I was treated (which was not ok) but I can work with this.  During lunch the ball was in his court, and he seemed to handle it with care.

I’m still working slightly crazy hours and I’m ready for it to end.  I need a break people!  I wind up working even when I’m off, and this week (and this past weekend) I’ve worked after hours ALOT.  Such is life in IT.  But, all in all, I am making progress.  I think I wrote a month or so ago that work was going to be a huge challenge for me in the upcoming weeks.  Boy was that spot on.  It should get better soon.  Yay (that’s a small hopeful yay not an all caps YAY!! lol).

And oh!  Next Friday I got invited on a team outing  that’s not even my official team at work – I’m very happy about that!  Look up “perfect Friday” in my dictionary and it will say:  Go to Canyon Lake with awesome peeps; boat, jetski, listen to loud music, and just have a cussing good time!

This girl needs to soak up some sunshine and fun, and that’s exactly what I plan to do.

Wish you the best today xoxo
